I have some snap on pullers purchased recently, looks like they have been in storage for many years, and never used. I think they are zinc coated or maybe galvanized . The surface looks chalky... any way to restore the finish ? Thx

Your chalky-looking tools may very well be cadmium plated. Cadmium is very toxic and carcinogenic; therefore it's best to not disturb the finish, especially by wire wheeling or other methods which would result in cadmium dust and particles becoming airborne and potentially inhaled.

If, instead, the finish is zinc, you could remove the corrosion with a soft wire wheeling, or fine steel wool with WD-40

Perhaps you could email Snap On and get some info on the pullers before deciding what to do. They have every catalog past and present & can get you info via part numbers. You may be able to find out as well if you search Google with part numbers.
