Well I was cleaning out my filters on my Mitsubishi unit and I looked at the fan and it is nasty and needs to be cleaned. My question is this a DIY thing or just asking for having to replace the head unit unless I get the dealer in.

Is there anything I can spray up in it, i found some no rinse cleaner on line but will that also clean the fan wheel?

I do both of mine once a year. You really need to pull blower wheel out - it is really not that hard. Here is a pretty good video from Mitsubishi. I also use a spray cleaner on the coil, Note - a lot of it is just plastic parts that snap together

Attached are some pics

A close-up pic of the 3 screws that you remove on the left side to actually get the blower wheel out

The right side of the blower wheel where there is a slot to loosen the screw that attaches the blower wheel to the motor

After removing those three screws, you pull the coil out a little bit until you can get the wheel to drop down and pull it out

Thanks for the info, I actually was planning on getting that same spray so I'll order a couple of those. I wish my wheel looked like yours, it's a lot worse than that.

My unit has the infrared temp sensor and the side to side louvers so a little more complex than the one in the video. I might get the dealer in so I can watch the tech and then do it myself going forward.

I ordered the coil cleaner today so Wednesday I'll give it a shot and see how well I cleans up and hopefully go from there. We are doing flooring next month do if I need to get them in I'd prefer to wait till that project is done.
