I am slowly selling off a lot of stuff that I have accumulated over the last 20 years (10 of them as a Snap-on dealer.) I acquired this box about 10-12 years ago when I was still with Snap-on. A neighboring dealer took this in on trade from the original owner and I traded that dealer for it. I don't recall the the model numbers but I do remember that it was manufactured in 1968. I have the original keys as well as the tool to remove the drawers. The drawers are all friction slide and work great. I think the original owner had it in his garage and was not a professional based on the condition. I got it, put it in the corner and started storing junk in it. I have reached a point in my life where I have decided I don't need all this junk much less a toolbox to store it.

So my question to the GJ vintage toolbox gurus is this. When I do get this box emptied and cleaned and ready to sell. What does a 55 year old Snap-on box like this sell for? What do you think would be the best place to market it? Classifieds here? Facebook? Ebay?

Cleaned up, 4oo-5oo depending on where you live. And be prepared to deal. FaceBook and Craigslist are the best choices and I wouldn't bother with eBay, as shipping is too much of a pain and you would have to let them get their penny out of it. The only reason to use them is for things that need a national audience, and Snap-on boxes don't need that.

I've owned at least a half dozen those. Made by MBC, I paid $55.00 for the last 1 and $85.00 for the one before that. Thats in the Arizona desert. I sold one for $150.00. In SoCal, they go for $350 - $450. Just depends of the market your in. It was tough being a Cornwell Dealer and having a thing for SO boxes. Don't happen to have a taco cart floating around do you?

There is one here that is similar. They want $300 for the stack. Yours looks a little nicer so 300-400 seems pretty fair.
