Have an old tool box I am going to repaint. First I need to clean it. I used engine degreaser to clean it first. Would pressure washing it next be ok to do?

Just did my craftsman rollaway and top box. Here is what worked for me: Sanded it down, went down to bare metal for any rust areas. Cleaned the box with denatured alcohol. Used a good Krylon zinc based primer, and Krylon hammered silver and banner red for paint.

Ok good thanks. I am working on the top part for now. I disassembled it and sprayed engine degreaser all over it and wiped it down. Then I was going to follow it up with the pressure washer to get everything nice and clean - let it dry. Sand the rusted spots down to bare metal - rustoleum primer and paint in one followed up by clear coat. With the pressure washer, should I use the most aggressive tip or just the regular green one? I didn't know if I should use the most aggressive tip to strip some of the paint off since I am repainting it?

I almost alwats pressure wash used bozes when I get them.
I remove the drawers and blast them apart then put together with a little lube on the slides.

if it has BB glides I do not pressure wash those but just blow them out. if they are gunked I use carb cleaner and then lube them.

friction slides I pressure wash
