I think I did pretty good here. Any other tips for making it even better? I was thinking about getting some UV resistant insulation for the 3/8 line just to give it some protection, but I'm not sure

3/8" is a liquid doesn't need insulation. That low voltage wiring coming out of the wall really needs a waterproof box to keep wire nut and tape dry.

Both lines need insulation on new installs around omaha anyway,I never worry about liquid line on change outs though.

Yeah the nut is on the old picture, now its a direct run from the AH to the outside unit, under the lineset tape

I'm not really concerned about if it needs insulation for performance, I just want to offer it some protection from weed wacking throwing rocks, etc

Theyre trying to be like california I guess, something to do with efficiency they say.
Anytime I buy line sets now they always ask if I want a double insulated line set ,I usually just tell them single unless it's being inspected.
