Andy, this arrived today, I'm honoured and humbled to receive such a gift.
I never knew Steve personally but I remember he "liked" something I was talking to Bob about, and that made me think I must be doing something right.
On a wider perspective it made me reflect on others who have gone before ,my father, 3 yrs ago and a daughter aged 15, 22yrs ago.
Thank you Andy , my friend.

I cannot find the perfect place for it , it'll stay here on the band saw for now, I spend a lot of time in this corner of the shop, I did try the kettle but it's stainless so no joy there.

Thank you.
Steve:beer:

Pretty special Steve.

But then, you are a really nice guy too.

I have some stickers, will message you in a moment and get a postal address and pop one in the post to you as well.

Thank you Andy
I received my Q S T badge the day I left for vacation. I'm back and out in the shop all day again.
I have been looking at this piece and decided what I want to do to it.

Thanks for casting mine in bronze

Just kidding it's the light in my office.

Bronze tint looks good Don!

I did not know him personally either, but he overcame the distance to make us friends.

Glad you like it!

At least you have met Steve. It may be about time for me to start traveling. I was tired of it when I quit work.

I guess my casting is sitting at Don Longs Party Garage awaiting collection before I head home. I am keen to see it and see what Don has done with his. I have no idea if I will get access here again before then.

I guess!

A little update. I missed spraying pasture this year. A lot of people did, weather just did not cooperate. I had one day I could have sprayed and was just not in the mood. So we drug out this old Farmall H to mow weeds with.

After the diesel Dodge came off the lift we played auto tetris and would up with an empty bay in the main shop.

And the bed is off the Dakota.

Mailed the last eight emblems today. One gentleman has not mailed the casting delivery address so he's on hold.

Our little tiny Post Office does not do much international mailing:lol_hitti

Andrew Church was kind enough to send me an engine plate and two book marks.

Thanks, Andrew!!

It's a long ways, I hope it gets there.

Ohhh...Dakota update.

:lol_hitti Making a little progress...

At least your grandkids will know mowing without a live PTO!

Anybody working here has to know manual transmissions and a clutch operated PTO. I square bale hay quite well without a live PTO.:pimpflash

That's how I started off bailing. Super M and a Nh baler, of course.

Speaking of IHs, I just brought home a pair of Farmall Ms this morning. Already have one going (new points, cond, distributor cap). Dropped the oil after a few spins around the "block." It even charges (6v still too).

I am now in LA. Andy thank you for sending mine care of Don Long. Saved you postage. Photos on the forum do not do your work justice. Nice work.

You're welcome!

Great news on your new M's. Surprisingly most of them are in good shape even after sitting a long time.

Regulators are the only weakness in trying to maintain a 6v system. I usually try to clean the points and reuse old ones.

Andy, #66 Arrived safely in Ohio. No pics yet, but I sure do appreciate it!

Now to find a place to display it.

Great!!

Likewise ! Thank you Andy for your awesome tribute to Steve. More to follow....

Thank you!

This has certainly turned into a bit of an arms race, modifying these pieces

Andy, as said before, thank you from all of us, for the effort you are making.

You're welcome!

I am still in Wendover and no racing on the salt so I have had time to consider what to do with mine when I return to Castlemaine. I now plan to paint it Gold not only as how I respected my friend Steve but as a way of showing my respect and admiration to friendships formed here on the GJ. Gold I believe is the best to show respect to all. I then believe it should be mounted on a nice piece of timber to hang on the wall in my office in Sheddwellers.

Andy again my thanks for a great piece of work and a great way to show respect to friends and mates here on the GJ. To use a term I have heard a lot of recently whilst in the USA. Well done Sir :thumbup:.

Heaps of progress Andy! Lift is looking great not to mention it going in the pit soon. Looks like we are going to see some Studebaker rolling on Dakota shoes as well. :rocker::rocker::rocker:

Bears Fan's badge looks neat with the dark blue paint fill.

Thanks, Rian. But truly it was little effort and Lord knows I need the practice.

I had to drop out for a bit. Much to my total lack of surprise, you've been busy having fun and getting it done.

I've been called a busy body.:bounce:

Looking forward to how the pedal comes out Andy, that could be a neat little thing to have in an old hot rod.

Andy - summer is flying by and I have been delinquent for several weeks now but wanted to say thanks for the QST emblem and the hammer. I will make the proper post on 1/2 cup's thread.

Also - impressed with the progress you have been making while I've been away.

Morning Andy,

Yup.......

Silly grin generated here.

Thank you for taking the time to mess with another of my silly ideas.

Like almost everything else, this has been fun.

Here's the next mold, cast in the morning.

Guilty, you did provide the raw material. I was trying to pass it off as mine so I could make more money off the castings.

Sorry, Bit back to front.

After casting the mould.

Thanks for posting! I didn't even see you!:lol_hitti

My family and I returned from a nine day camping trip circumnavigating Lake Erie and low-and-behold, what was awaiting my return? QST #62!! My wife doesn't quite understand how it appeared or why I was so excited, but whatever...It gave me a chance to talk to her and my teenage kids about this community and 1/2Cup.

Andy, I greatly appreciate it. And now I have your address so perhaps someday you will receive a mystery package as well.

I've put the plaque up on my "welding tower" for now. I hope to give it a treatment similar to BearsFan at some point, but it looks great as is.

Thanks Andy, its a wonderful thing you are doing.

-Derek

Sorry to hi-jack the thread, but this is on my bucket list.
Did you post highlights about the trip anywhere?
What was your favorite part/place?
Did you follow the Lake Erie Circle tour?
Maybe PM me?
Thanks

Great work with the QST plaques Andy!

Yes I have one, its pitted but complete. I need to load up the stuff I have for you and blow down in your neck of the woods. I'm going to take a picture of a machine and see if you might like it. More to tell you with the picture.

Andy

I received a nice delivery through the mail late this week:

IMG_9952.JPG

Hammer number 36, and in particular, memorial casting number 14....:

IMG_9953.JPG

Thanks heaps. I can now go to work planning out my 1/2Cup memorial.

And Andy, - I'm amazed at the lightness of the hammer. And the beautiful handle. Did you just treat that with BLO?

I'm really chuffed, and will treasure both of them for the rest of my time.

Lyndon

Those are the best gift and memorial. Thanks again, it has a double life. When I see the QST, I remember Steve 1/2 cup and Andy who has donated time from his life to do this for lots of people he has never met. Much appreciated sir.:thumbup::thumbup:
