Happy Thanksgiving all.

Had a great extended chat with our man Andy today.

Some pics of him and Hershey working.

Being Thanksgiving, Andy has had family over and also been busy in the kitchen.

His contributions to our mirth, underlined by this pic he sent over.

Pumpkin pie and cinnamon cookies.

Can you say PIE ??

Being family time, Andy also took his grand daughter out hunting on the farm.

One shot Annie.

Lastly, Andy has been making these special aluminium bronze crosses for people who need a bit of morale boosting.

I love it.

Thays it for now from Oklahoma

Thanks for the report! It is nice to see that Andy is active and producing things both in the kitchen and the foundry, and sees some happiness.

Hi, Andy!

I know many guys who rarely post up still look in daily to see how Andy is doing.

Well.....

As members of the “Andy Martin Fan Club ” know, I am privileged to speak with Andy by phone or text daily.
Often we have a few separate exchanges per day.
Depending on what either of us see or do and want to share.

I went to collect the 5th seat for the (new to me) http://forum.retro-rides.org/thread/211832/grizz-2001-gen1-galaxy-petrol used Ford Galaxy, not Galaxie about 30 miles from home yesterday, followed by a nice visit to friend Darren’s Unit Engineering shop. I took Sally along as we had some other jobs to see to as well, including buying food andmy friends all seem to like her.

Checking in with Andy to share some lazer cut items at Darren’s place by Whatsapp text, I got this response.

Today would have 40 years with Sharon. Enshrined memories.

So Sally and I gave him a video call from the car.......

No surprise when he answered the call knee deep in cow poop out back just about ready to let his girls into a cold, and waterlogged pen for some feeding.

It was so funny though........

Watching and hearing the cows behind him.

And your Funny Guys comment on the cows in his slow, calculated drawl.......

You know when you order a meal in a restaurant, and your server stops to speak to the table next door with your meal in hand.....? Thats what we are doing right about now

So Sally and I let him get back to feeding the cows at 35’F

Last night (we are 6 hours ahead of Oklahoma time) he sent me some pics of a late “lunch” he had gone out to have with his son.

Andy certainly does surprise me some days.

And of course the man, the Legend, the Clown, that is AWM OIF

So life as it is now, continues to evolve for Andy.

I am sure we will hear more from Andy over the weekend.

Later.

Wish the anniversary could have under better circumstances. Unfortunately life doesn’t always agree. Andy glad to see you’re having quality family time.
Again thank you Grizz.

Hi guys. Kind words are so appreciated. I've been checking in some and am going to try to start posting. I want to explain the happy Meal thing.

he young man is my new adopted grandson (16) and his father, my son. They also adopted his sister, 8, and she and her dad usually eat a Happy Meal. They wear the boxes as crowns while they eat. I joined in because the meal is 500 calories and I'm trying to lose. Wearing the box was to embarrass the 16 year old and it worked well. Of course the good part, you can't see yourself while wearing the box. My son showed the preferred optical position for the box but I'm a fat head.

I'm a dog lover so I was indeed a little melon collie on our anniversary. I miss her greatly.

It is great to hear from you this morning, Andy. Like many others here, I check your thread often to see if you have replied. You are missed, but I understand that you are still adjusting to your new routine. I hope that you and your family had a good Thanksgiving. And kudos to your son on his newfound family.

Andy, thanks for the post. It's good you and your son are sharing family traditions with the new members. When you do the Happy Meal again, wait for a large crowd of young ladies from your grandson's school to be in attendance. Builds character and you will probably see an innovative hiding place materialize under your table.

Good to see you posting Andy. Always nice for the family to grow on one end as it shrinks on the other. Makes hard times a little easier to bear.

Gone for a bit and it’s almost like a return to regular programme. Doggy pics and casting pics. Pumpkin pies, cherries pies and cow pies.

Glad to have you back Andy! It has been too quiet here without you.

All the above and his girls.

Continuing to be a lot busier than I suspect even he expected.

These “failures” are my favourites as they continue to represent HOPE despite being ravaged by the process.

Hey Andy, I'll be honest I haven't been checking this thread a lot lately because I've been busy. Glad to see you back and I hope it becomes more regular, because I miss you're posts. Hang in there.

Glad to see your digital persona back up and on the ol' interwebs.

Our family uses the trivot daily and every once in a while the kiddos ask about the words around the outside. I happily explain to them what they all mean and tell them someone I've never met made it for Mom as a gift. They ask why a stranger would do that and I always reply, "Even though we've never met I know enough about him to know that he'd smile if he knew we were having these wonderful conversations because of an act of kindness he passed on to us. Never be afraid to be kind to your neighbor, even if he's a long way away."

Thank you again for the trivot, it has sparked a lot of wonderful conversations up here :)

JBL, the same is true here. My wife uses her Trivet every day (so do I for that matter for Sunday breakfast.) I plan to bring my broom up from the basement and hang it proudly in my garage near my QST casting and my Aluminum hammer.

Andy, you have touched my family more than you know. Thank you for being you. Your daily banter is missed, but I am glad to have any of you that you care to share.

I took the afternoon off to relax like the Dr. told me to and thought of our visit this summer.

I'm trying to slow down a bit and think of my many blessings, friends and family.

Want to wish you a Merry Christmas my good friend

Don
