Morning mate.

Good to see you here, glad the trip home was uneventful

Uneventful trips are a blessing. And post surgery I was quite tender.

Actually good info on windmills Andy, I've never been that close to one before but I've climbed a few old towers because I could. Also I've been called a jack rod before, but what is a jack wagon? One for Grizz, why do they call money in England a pound, and how many pounds to make a stone?

Good day good sir,
JB

I have heard a dump wagon called a jack wagon.

I do know a stone is weight measure. How many pennies in an ounce?

Not English, I grew up metric, and all civilised.

Google will know though.

Its name derives from the Latin word Libra for weight or balance, via the construction Libra Pondo, meaning a pound weight. While the word Libra has long since been discarded, it makes its presence felt in both the £ symbol, an ornate L, and the abbreviation for the unit of mass, lb.

I didn't know where the £ originated. Thanks. Nor why we abbreviate pound as lb. Thank you.

Nice to see you typing away on here some, Andy! Miss the tales you tell and the experience you share.

Thanks, I'm trying to get wound up!

I learn so much here. I hope there isn't going to be a test.

It is not so much what you learn but how you apply it. I've been formulating a short quiz to separate the men from the boys.

The only test I heard about is on the 1930's garage. But if we don't say anything maybe Tom forgot about it. Shh[emoji2958]

Bob is right, it was Chris threatening to embarrass everyone with a test.

I rarely post there for fear Chris will remember and have the test ready. Andy wouldn't be that cruel....

You're smarter than you look, Bob. Of course, that's a low bar...

The 32 Chevrolet had a bad front wheel brake cable guide casting so I copied it and made a new one.

And got the rear end assembled.

One long day trip ended spectacularly.

Had a friend and her kids out. We had a great day wading in the creek.

Good to see you are at it Andy.

Creek walks are brilliant.

Rock n roll.

Craig and I should have been at Clems in Fayetteville this week, and then we would be at yours by weekend.

This Corona this sure has messed with our schedule.

Thank you for the info, I didn't know most of that but suspected there was something behind it. I was aware that stone was weight and thought it was 14 pounds in a stone but had to google to verify. Now some stones are worth many pounds (£) but I feel few are really worth it in reality.

Glad to see you posting and casting again Andy. In response to your question, google says:
11.3 pennies

According to the U.S. Mint, one penny weighs 2.5 grams, which means 100 pennies weigh 250 grams. That equals 8.81 ounces, so there are 11.3 pennies per ounce.

Everyone had a great time. We had an 18C day.

Just like last year! Except my wife isn't dying this year. Even with the COVID thing I find this summer to be better. Of course I live in a poor area and we can't afford things like pandemics here. Everybody does keep a mask in their car in case we go to Tulsa but they're only seen on strangers in our small towns around.

What a profound statement: some stones are worth many pounds but few are really worth it. I would rather have £600 of road rock than the same value in diamond.

The pennies in question are the original English pennies.
However going back even further.....
A "pennyweight" was 1/240th of a pound or 1/20th of an ounce. Since that time the coins and the standards have changed several times.

Cool information!

Learning lots of things here, maybe someday I will have some use for it

Wading in the creek! The best of days :)

The best use of my knowledge I've found is spreading it around here.:bounce:

You'll notice I was wading too. It was grand!

The lift I had installed in my son's garage the summer of 2019 had a leaking seal. It got worse and he couldn't use it so I went down and helped pull the seal.

3/4" socket head screws and no tools. A big punch and two wrenches worked nicely with cheaters.

attachment.php

I brought two rings home for cleaning and getting a vent plug out.

attachment.php

I like color codes.:bounce:

attachment.php

At the same time we made traction bars for the '32 Chevy.

attachment.php

A friend who has been keeping a tractor for me decided to paint it. Hmmm. He brought the panels to me to be painted anyway.

attachment.php

All painting carefully done under the four post lift with Miss Vicky on it.

Who knows the model of this tractor?

attachment.php

Thanks for stopping by!

For those who don't know where the four post lift resides, it's here. Or there.

attachment.php

Assembling the new seal. The old one was really really bad.

attachment.php

People who want to use the lift were eager to help. My son and oldest grandson.

attachment.php

My grandson is an auto trader and does repair and engine swaps to up the value of his vehicles. He primarily likes VW bugs and 60's Ford pickups.

Lift worked great!

attachment.php

In their yard is a truck they bought for me at an auction. An old Chevy gin pole one ton from a salvage yard. It's pretty rough.

attachment.php

Heavy bed. Has an IH 2 ton rear axle.

attachment.php

But a nice heavy duty winch. Not bad for $200.

attachment.php

Next up, making cabinets.

Andy, great to see the posts. When I saw the picture of the creek I thought that they missed the 71 yr. old kid that was in it.

Hey what's that 32 doing up there? That's where the dodge truck lives.

Good to see you up and posting. But it looks like friends and family have figured out that Andy doesn't have a job so let's call him to do it. LOL

Wish we had a creek worth wading in around here. My 5 or so grands who would think that was the bees knees.

Im guessing the tractor model is a x50 series Farmall. I wanted to say 450 but Im beginning to wonder if SiFan is closer with the utility model.

IH 350 utility ?

Close, but no cigar!

I only see a 3 post lift. [emoji12]

******* bars for the Chevy?

You came up short, Shorty. If you look closely you can see half the fourth post on the far left, it has the power supply and black hydraulic tank hanging on it.

Andy, great to see the posts. When I saw the picture of the creek I thought that they missed the 71 yr. old kid that was in it.

Thanks, Dwight. I was there...

Cook truck buy there Andy.

I may be biased though.

Cool, Rian, since my son bought the truck at auction and his last name is Cook, you nailed it.:bounce:

That's the 31 Vicky, Miss Vicky to you, thank you. The old Dodge is moving hay.

Occasionally the creek comes in handy. Like when cattle are thirsty.

Actually it's a 300 row crop. Probably impossible to tell without a grill.

The sheetmetal came out great Andy, now you gotta do the rest of it! A 300 wf would be a handy tractor to keep around. That one have a Fasthitch on it?

Great to see you Don. I'm ready for another trip once I get healed up from my surgery.

Nice looking tractor Andy, keep up the good work and I hope to see you soon.

JB

Thanks, JB. I look forward to seeing you too.

Thanks! He painted the grill a lightly different color, but it's not rusting. It may eventually get painted.:willy_nil

No fast hitch, it has an aftermarket three point.

attachment.php

At least everything works good.

I do have a narrow front 300 with a Fast Hitch, and a Super C and 450 Diesel but the only implement I have is a seven foot disc.

A real 3pt is even better. Don't need adapters or fasthitch implements that way.

Don't be a tease Andy, we know you've got more than 3 tractors floating around.

We've got a super C with full cultivators and an old H on cutoffs. I always liked a 400 diesel though.

I think I channeled my inner Andy on this tire, but then again, maybe I took it too far. I definitely got my money's worth out of it.

Trouble is, I have no three point attachments. I had a post hole digger but gave it to my son.

Let me look, I think I have another tractor somewhere.

I have cultivators for an H. The C would be cool.

I'd like to have lugs for an H.

No, looks good. Could you put a boot in it and get another few miles?

When we last visited lonely Andy he was trying to learn to make cabinets.

His wood shop is a little cramped but will handle 4x8 sheet gods.

attachment.php

Easy does it. The full sheet starts out on the radial arm saw table as well as the long bench and table saw.

attachment.php

Those 3/4" sheets are heavier than they used to be. They cut up pretty quickly.

attachment.php

After using what I had on hand it was back to the lumber yard.

attachment.php

I just bought common yellow pine 1x8's. They were pretty clean and I can work around knots when cutting into short 1x2's.

Then began assembling a few boxes.

attachment.php

attachment.php

It goes deceptively quickly.

I'm catching up on pictures, but back to the future right now.

We finally finished up the 32 Chevy. It's a nice looking car.

attachment.php

The owner likes to take his kids for rides in the rumble seat. We added seat belts for them.

attachment.php

It has been a year today, September 12, since my sweet wife Sharon of forty years died in my arms. I need to be like this tree. Displaced but moving on, still retaining the memories. I will always miss her but hope to look normal from a distance. The wind tried to push this tree over and failed. But while it cannot right itself it's doing the best it can to look normal.

attachment.php

I pay attention to nature and enjoy the wonders which come my way. These were remarkable clouds. They are called mammary clouds, I don't know why...

attachment.php

I was walking every morning back then and am walking each morning now. My dogs take care to keep track of me while they run and explore.

attachment.php

We picked Rose of Sharon from her bush the morning of the funeral. It is in full bloom this year and I stop each morning to remember the joy she brought me.

attachment.php

I mourn my loss but I joy in her gain to be in God's Heaven. May others be a fortunate as I.

Hi. CNC_Rick here. I've been a member for a few years. I've followed your antics from the start. You remind me so much of my Dad. He could fix anything, just like you. Ive responded on JBMATT's page, too. I do own a Farmall M... and 7 John Deeres... and an Allis Chalmers B... just like the one you have, but not quite as nice as yours. a couple dozers...

Good to see you back Andy. Nice work. Maybe now I will have more motivation to create. I am creating space though. Got a guy who wanted the Texaco gas pump but was surprised when I would not let him take it while leaving me a check; which he informs me of after I spent several hours removing it. Now it's occupying the space i just made in my barn. :dunno:

A difficult day but a good day for a walk with the pooches and seeing the beauty in life.

Did they drive the Chevy to the levy?
