Cleaning Vinyl covered chains for swing set.

Hey first time user of this forum, wanted to ask if anyone has experience in cleaning vinyl covered chains.... I have this older swing set, and planned to use muriatic acid to clean the rust & vinyl coating, and once they are cleaned up spraying them with this Plasti Dip product I found on the internet. Just want to confirm if the muriatic acid will do the trick, and anything I should be mindful of before starting this process.

A lot work and time for some old chains... Did you price out new ones? probably cheaper then all of the materials you are buying....

Wrong forum.

But I dont think plasti dip is going to hold up on a chain at all. Better off just replacing the chains.
