Clear Coat over "stain"

My garage floor has previously been painted with Behr concrete stain. I am not ready to strip and refinish with epoxy, but want to use a gloss clear coat over the stain.

My floors are clean and in good shape, just needs a touch up in a few places.

What can I use to clear coat this finish? I have been told I can epoxy clear coat over most any floor finish in good shape. true?

We also have a water based clear. It is for conventional penetrating stains and general clear coating over concrete.

What you have to watch is these Behr stains are closer to paint, they are topical. You could see a reaction.
