I bought a 42 in Craftsman tool chest. Not sure the age but needed the top for work. It was a bit beat up. A few dents, rust, and a little racked. I sanded the rust, beat out the dents I could (a huge one on the bottom looks like it rolled off a truck) and I straighten out the box so I sit flat.
So after degreasing, sanding, and acetone I primed and painted. I used Rust-Oleum premium custom lacquer. Can says it made for adding detail or to personalize your car. Here's my question. Should I clear coat it? I'm looking to keep it a matte black. Is that lacquer I used durable enough? Any thoughts?
