Clear Coat Yellowing

I applied Rustoleum clear over my epoxy about a year ago (it's held up really well by the way), however the front of my garage is starting to yellow due to the exposure to the sun (south facing). Is there any way to possibly sand down the clear and reapply a clear that won't yellow? Any suggestions?

Typically when the clear coat starts to amber or yellow, the clear coat needs to be removed. Keep in mind that no epoxy is 100% UV resistant. You may want to consider recoating the floor with a high gloss color or top coat with a polyurea if you are getting alot of sunlight in the garage. Typically clears will show the ambering much faster than a color will.

We have a UV resistant 100% solids epoxy clear-coat and a clear urethane as well.

Houston Husker - The pros already said it, once it starts to yellow, there's no way to reverse it.

I'd like to know if you used this product: http://www.rustoleum.com/CBGProduct.asp?pid=13

I think Rustoleum only makes one clear. What epoxy did you put it on top of? Rustoleum brand? Water or Solvent based? I'm asking because I put down Rustoleum Solvent epoxy and coated with Rustoleum Solvent Clear. My Garage Door faces west and is only open when cars are entering/leaving. I also have a 18x24 window facing north with no shade.

I installed approx 18 months ago and have seen no yellowing whatsoever.

So I'm wondering if your clearcoat is yellowing or if the underlaying epoxy is yellowing.

I real polyurethane or polyaspartic will not.. all epoxy will fade or yellow over time
you need to investigate your material options well the good stuff is normally sold only to contractors with GL insurance for obvious reasons... once its gone bad if it's bonded well you can just go over it with a new system.... or remove and start over.. good luck..
the comment " maybe the material under is dis coloring " could be true but normally a good UV resistant top coat prevents that from occuring

Porphyre, yes that is the product that I used. I leave my door open quite a bit (for the dogs) so that's why it's yellowing. It's not a defective product....as the further you get in the garage (3 car tandem) it is not yellowed. Thanks for all the info guys...
