Will a clear coat of epoxy bond well over Quikcrete's semi transparent stain?

I recently used the Quikcrete water based stain on my 30x40 floor and was just planning to use a clear coat sealer on top of it but knowing it will wear very fast I'm curious if it an epoxy clear coat will work going over the stain/almost paint. I really wanted to go with an acid stain but long story short my wife was in a hurry and the building will be more of a woodshop and workshop than a garage used to park cars.

This is a machine finished smoth slab poured last October. For prep work I used the Quikcrete Bond Lok first which didn't do squat in the etching department. I then went back and etched it with Drylok etch (SULFAMIC ACID) before trying muric acid and it seemed to do the job. In retrospect it would have been cheaper to rent a machine to diamond grind but that's where I am now.

What you have is a tinted acrylic sealer, according to most manufacterers, epoxy doesn't bond well with acrylics.

Your best bet is to grind off and start over

Even if the epoxy did bond well to your previous coating, the overall strength and adhesion is still going to be dictated by the bottommost layer. If or when that sealer begins to peel or flake, you'll be stuck having to grind a bunch of epoxy off to fix it.

Sounds to me like the easiest route is to grind the old product off and install a system of products you are certain will be compatible with each other.

I think I will just stick with the arcylic base and sealer then. I thought that would be the case but it was worth a shot.. Personally I like the look, just not as much as an acid stain w a clear epoxy overcoat. I've seen the water based stain/paint before in a few places and it doesn't really peel like paint, more just fades and wears eventually.

I have had epoxy base w/o a clear coat in previous locations and while it held up well it's not worth the cost to me for a 30x40 building that is a workshop/woodshop that will rarely see hot tires other than from a bass boat trailer or tractor here and there and usually they won't be hot. The attached garage is where the cars live.

As for pics, give me a week or so for me to clean up my mess. I'm not even sure why they call it a stain, it is more of a watery paint than a sealer or stain. I did play around with a rag in a corner after spraying and I wish I had done that over the entire floor because it appears more like an acid stain floor especially with another color misted over. I went with a dark brown with light tan misted and blothed on. I looks decent if it will last.
