Not TECHNICALLY flooring but this forum is the closest I think I'll get...
This weekend I poured a clear epoxy resin topcoat on top of my desk to protect it. I figure this is at least somewhat similar to epoxy flooring.
Unfortunately I failed to consider UV protection before I applied the epoxy. Now I want to put a clear polyurethane topcoat on top of the resin to prevent yellowing, but I've missed the window to have a chemical bond between the epoxy and the polyurethane because the epoxy on the desk is already cured.
Can I apply polyurethane directly on top of my cured epoxy resin? Do I have to sand the epoxy first to get a good bond? After sanding, will the polyurethane topcoat restore the clear and glossy look to my now sanded epoxy? What about the type of polyurethane, should I use a two part or one part system? Wipe on, brush on or spray on? Many questions...
