I’d like to find some similar yet sturdier clear drawer systems to expand storage in this area. I would get rid of the wire shelves too if there was a better integrated solution. I guess they don’t have to be clear but that is just what I’m used to and having a hard time visualizing anything different.
You could try and build a wooden frame for the clear drawers. My wife wants one of these. I found someone giving away a bunch of clear drawers as the frame broke.
I decided to build a 2x2 wood frame and see how it comes out.
I use clear totes with lids. I had some of the drawers like that, but found dust would still get into them from my woodworking. I have shelves I slide them onto.
The electrical section. Stackable drawers from Walmart, Sterilite. They are about 18d x 12w x 7h. Fine for smaller items, but the drawers are plastic and will start dragging on the frame if overloaded. Unfortunately they don't seem to be made any more, but there's probably something similar. Dollar store plastic shoeboxes (a couple on the top), and costco medium sized clear bins (peeking out on the right).
@LeeG - do you have a larger picture of this you can post? I like it and am trying to understand how to adapt it for my area. In my case I would probably reuse my existing drawers which are a little wider than your totes. I have a different shelf over my workbench where I might make a set of tote shelves though. Is your shelf system attached to the back wall?
