Does anybody have recommendations for a good tire inflator with gauge? Made in the USA is preferred.

Do they make one with a straight end?

Like this Milton?

I have a Milton gauge similar to the one you linked. It’s ok. I then picked up a Astro 3018 and never looked back. The Milton hasn’t left the tool box since. The Astro might not be made in the USA, but it’s still an awesome gauge! Highly recommend it!

I do my best to buy domestic products, but the best products still win out.

Go with a dial gauge rather than the linear ones. Much better accuracy and readability with a dial. I've got a Milton with a digital gauge, but added this one to the tool box:

Thanks. I have all 3 posted in my cart.

My last similar tire inflator went bad about 20 years ago. A friend said similar. We started talking about a friend that got hurt when an old tire he was filling blew out. We both have had near missesnand both said it was time to get new tire inflators.

We've both been lucky for many years.

I have that Milton with a 36” hose, makes it nicer to stand instead of squat, and I just installed the inline locking head on it. Works great.

I bought this one from Amazon because of the big dial gauge and bleeder for mounting race car tires. Looked for a Milton or similar but couldn't find one laid out the way I wanted it.

The hose and chuck that came with it were kind of junk, but that didn't really matter to me. I put an 8ft hose and (IIRC) Dixon straight clip-on chuck on it. It's been great.

On a safety note...When inflating, the danger zone is parallel to the face of the tire and about 60 degrees off of that face. We use remote inflators at work, as we have tire pressures that go over 300 psig, for certain tires and flight conditions. I've seen the damage when a tire inflated to 215 psig, failed in a closed wheel well. Let's put it this way, when it failed, the crew was lucky that they had just retracted the gear for a task. It tore up lots of stuff and fortunately the explosion was contained entirely within the closed up well.

For those that haven't seen a tire inflation failure, I'll offer this video up on aircraft tire cage failures...

^^^ I'm not going to quote that whole thing, but the reason for me getting mine and setting it up with a long hose is that in less than a twelve month period I knew one guy who was killed and one guy who's driving career was ended by tire mounting explosions.
