I'll bet I'm not the only guy here who likes to clip the leads on 8-pin, 14-pin, and 16-pin DIP packages and then remove each lead one at a time. I bought a nice Italian-made angle-tipped cutters for doing this and they lasted eight years, but they're due for replacement.

Has anyone here found a really outstanding set of cutters they'd recommend for this?

Especially on double sided pc boards.

I've been using three peaks mmp 100 daily for more than 30 years. Bought 6 pairs pairs those days. Left with 3Prs due to loss.

For IC legs its three peaks ENP 115 also more than 30 yrs.

I use Xcelite's 5inch diagonal pliers for almost anything circuit or electrical related smaller then about 16ga. Including clipping DIP leads, and other through hole parts.

The blue handled one has lasted me 5+ years of it.

That and a pair of Mac crimpers, have replaced all the fancy different cutters, strippers, (most) crimpers, and other pliers I had for general electrical/electronics work.
