clopay 4300 insulated door Question. Got my answer !

Hi I have a chance to buy a New Clopay 4300 Premium insulated garage door with all hardware and tracks included for $500 . I need a wind rated door in my area. My question is if its not wind rated can I get parts from Clopay to make it meet my 110 mph rating I need? Any Clopay dealer on here that might know if I can do that? It was too late for me to call Clopay and I'm going to get it Monday.
Thank you Wayne

If it's the three layer designed door, chances are good that it will be enough for what you need. IIRC, getting a "wind rated" door is when you have a basic door that is just the skin. These insulated three layer jobs are no joke. I have one and I would hate to be near the wind that would tear that thing out.

Regardless, as a second piece of information, I have done surprisingly well using the "chat" box on clopays web page. Honestly.... I have. Used it four times now with concern to my current door and my door on order. I have totally surprised that I got all I needed from that... and it was quick.

Ok guys got it figured out. In case any one else wanted to know. The door the way it is, is rated 90 mph. The guy I bought the door from is a dealer so he called Clopay and they said add 3 struts one on each panel that doesn't already have one and it will be 140 mph rated. He charged me for three and gave me4 or 5 with all the hardware to add them. So here's what I got a 4300 insulated 16x8' door no windows, a door section with windows and the plastic designs, all hardware and tracks to install, a Liftmaster 3800 2 remotes 1 keypad , the outer seal kit, and the struts to upgrade to 140 mph all for $962. I had to go pick it up.

TRC51 I took you advice and went on facebook on Clopay's site and got an answer from a Clopay dealer. He suggested extra Struts across the door so I got one for every panel. He said it should be good for 140mph

You did good. I paid about $400-500 more for the same thing minus the 2 other struts.

Thats a great deal I paid $1100 for my 16x9 insulated, low ceiling clearance tracks, no windows, no opener.
Mine came with enough struts for every panel though.

Thanks I hope the inspector agrees it good. I just picked up two Anderson casement windows cw15 from a guy he installed them his wife wanted different ones so I got both for $200. They just happen to be the size the designer put in the plan. I've never been this lucky before.
