HD doesn't install doors, they Sub it out. See if you have a local Clopay or any other door distributor in your area and get a price from them as well. The company I used to work for, at one time supplied doors for HD nation wide. What a pain in the *** to deal with!!:eyecrazy:

I bought a Clopay door through HD about 4 years ago. Price was fair and the whole process was about as good as you could expect. They called within a day or so of my placing the order and scheduled the install.

Installer was on time, experienced, careful and neat. Door was properly adjusted and still looks and works great. I would not hesitate to use them again.

I bought my basic plain white 16x7 through HD with their regular 15% off special order door and window sale. All overhead doors are special order in the store. Price was right at $460 and that included delivery to the house.

I helped a friend install a new Clopay garage door a couple years ago. Whereas not rocket science, have the door installed by a professional if you can. Getting everything aligned and all is a pain and well worth the money to let someone else do.

I bought a Clopay door about 8 years ago. There is now corrosion blisters eating though the finish. Clopay told me that this was not a warranty issue and that I should paint it. Well, using the Clopay recommended latex paint isn't going last very long with underlying corrosion. Stay away from Clopay!

I recently installed CHI doors. Lot's of options. From basic single walled to thick insulation sandwiched construction with double pane windows. That is what I send with because my garage is air conditioned.

I went with CHI insulated doors on my build a year ago. Very happy with their entire setup and I had them pro installed.
