I'm sorry everyone, I did a quick search through the site and only found a thread from 2017 that sorta applied to this, so I figured I'd join and add to the noise.
The question is in the title. I have a Clopay / Ideal custom ordered garage door from Menards that I am currently installing. I took the old door out, and was putting this one in, but I've gotten to a point that's left me thinking, 'that can't be right....'

The issue in question is the top panel segment (4 of 4.) Images are below.

So the question after looking at the pictures is... Am I missing something obvious, or is it typical for the vertical track offset to be too much overkill? Thanks for any and all suggestions!

I just installed one of those doors, albiet a used takeout.

Looks like the track has to be raised above the floor a little, or else your header plate is too high for that particular door, ie, the opening requires a taller door / rail assembly. You should be able to waive the rail, as long as the bottom roller stays in the channel.

Mine didn’t come with an installation manual, but they’re available online.

+1 It's all about the top wheel. The mount is adjustable and the bracket may mount differently than all the others. Read the instructions carefully and there should be an additional step or footnotes for this last bracket/wheel.

I just want to tip my cap to y'all. I got it sorted with your suggestions!

One, I moved both rails up the wall about 1/2" an inch.
Two, I double checked the top bracket that I had tested on how far out it could slide out and noticed a small burr on one of the slots. I took it apart, filed it down, and... bam, the whole thing was able to slide way farther down and that closed all of the gap that was left. If I had just tested the other bracket first (It didn't have any obstruction on the slot), I would've probably known something was up on the second bracket. Oy vey!

Thank you again to you all, very much appreciated!

I'm glad you got the top bracket to slide enough, but it sure looks to me like your vertical section is too short. Instructions call for a gap of 1/2" inch off the floor, so moving them up is good. It keeps the steel off the ground and helps prevent rusting. Did you order the door for the finish opening size?
