I bought these three ratcheting wrenches Saturday at a sale. 11/32", 3/8", and 7/16" set. They are for places where a standard socket or box wrench will not fit. I know I have seen them advertised a long time ago, but can't remember where, when, or if they had a special purpose.
They have no maker's name on them, only numbers. Of course, they are marked for the size on the head, and the handle has a number that could be a Government specification or a model number.
The numbers are 5120-778-4483 for the 7/16", -4482 for the 3/8", and -4481 for the 11/32" versions. The number may be 5120-776- as it is hard to tell from the small size of the numbers.
They work with a unique action where the handle moves a cam to jam the hex into the teeth of the head. This is similar to some early "ratchet" wrenches, but in this case the cam works directly against the head of the fastener.
