Moving out to the country to a few acres I'm closing on next Monday.

The place has a 35' x 75' long building I am going to make my garage.
In the pic it has block on the one end that extends into the building a little, inside there is a small "office" area and a room with water.
The other end is a block wall but the whole front is framed.
I have a little demolition to do inside as the PO made a small gun shop and his wife had a sewing room.
Roof is truss built so it'll open up nice.
Can't wait :D

It also has a seperate one car garage with a loft.

Can't see another house...

It appears to have trench drains in the floor ?

Yes.
It was built as a dog kennel. In the one pic you can see the block wall running the length of the building and on the end of the building there are some wood doors on the left side.
there is 8' of covered storage on the back of the building.
They took one block wall out of the inside and built the frame wall on the exterior.
All of the grates for the drain are there but I'll probably permanently cover most of them.
Bad spot for a creeper or floor jack.

Dog kennel? Might need to get rid of some of that insulation and scrub the hell out of everything. I forget the brand but there is an enzyme cleaner you can get for pet messes that really eats up the nasty stuff. Then topcoat with a good sealer and that should get rid of the smell so well that your pets or any other animals that sneak in won't feel the need to mark their territory.

Pretty sure the PO already did that.

It hasn't been a kennel for a long time and they put finished rooms inside.

All that insulation was added after for the rooms.

Very nice .... appears to have a lot of potential. I expect you will need to fill in the floor trenches to minimize the risk of twisted ankles. Will you will need to upgrade the electrical service?

I'd have some steel cut (maybe some expanded steel?) to lay in.

LOL...is there a house to go with it? I showed it to my wife, and said that you showed the important buildings. She agreed.

All of the grating is there to cover the trench. I'll probably go with something smoother or even concrete.

We all know creepers and floor jacks have heavy duty wheels but can't roll over a zip tie...

Oh yeah, there's a house but that's minor.....
Nice little ranch that's getting a full length front porch as soon as I move in.
Gotta have somewhere to put the hammock.

Congrats on the new place. Lots of potential with plenty of room for most anything you may want to do.

Progress report...
I got some of the interior walls demo'd out and cut a hole in the wall for a ten foot barn style door.
Pulled some of the flooring up which was plywood over blue insulation over finished concrete.
Finished open interior should be around 28' x 68' with a seperate "office" area.
Total building is 35' x 75' which leaves me 6' x 68' of open slab in the back with a roof over it.

****, why are the pics sideways?

Did you post from a cell phone? That seems to be the culprit for a lot of the members here, but I'm no help on how to correct it.

Always seems to be a common issue.

Right click on your pics and save. Open with paint, rotate 90° and save. Try and reattaching after that see what happens.

Great progress, looks like a man on a mission.

I can't decide if those buildings look familiar or not..I live in Claridge and swear I've driven by those buildings a few times!

Filling them with tractors? Let me know if you need a driver ;-)
