I think I need to pay Mr. Jack Olsen to come out to my Island help a brotha out

Somebody on here asked me for a pic of the roadsta so there is a motor shot I did a complete rebuild in that lil garage and many others too. These are kind of crappy black berry pics I actually broke down and cleaned up this weekend so I'll snap some more. Pro tip: if you move your Datsun into a crammed garage watch out for the stupid OCC bar stool cause it will leave an excellent crease down the passenger side...friggin genius move.

I think you're talking about my Datsun. Its a 1970 SRL311 or 2000 roadster. 5 speed, over head cam, front disk brakes all orignal but new parts, easly hits a buck 20 as you see it. It came from Okanowa (sp) Japan durning the vietnam war it was shipped to the states by a naval officer stationed there and his son took it all apart and left it in the garage for about 10 years I bought it off him and brought it home on a flat bed with a shiat load of boxes of parts rebuilt the go go parts and other systems. that is the easy part for me, trying to learn body work is hard part. I just acuired a winsdor ford motor so maybe it will get put in there a Cobra killer if you will.wieghs about 1200 lbs and chicks dig it

LMAOF yep it is a life well spent I appreciate that sentiment. I actually cleaned up some so I'll try to get pics tonight when I get home. In my weak defense I was building this Murphy bed for guests that came and went now it’s pretty much done, I also trayed that ceiling, rewired, insulated, and painted that room. I got done the night before they arrived and just threw everything in there.

There's a TV show about people like you - Whoring... Hoarding...something like that.

Rat dog that is the only thing my wife put in there and it’s funny because I actually moved it on Sunday and it fell on me twice while I was putting it up. It looks like Santa puked in my house when my wife is done decorating for that holiday

I looked around at plans on the internet but I wanted it horizontal so just came up with a plan on my own. The toughest part was finding the hinges I used hinges that are made for a porch glider one of those old school porch seats they are rated at 1500 lbs according to the package and I frenched them in with fostner bits you can kinda see its the black nut in the back corner. The platform is 3/4 maple ply, bisquit joined and then a frame on top bisquit joined and other hardware. it came out pretty good, people like it, and it works well. They sell a murphy bed kit, hardware wise its 300.00 +/- I have about 50 bucks or less in hardware on that thing, five sheets of ply (really 6 +/- cause I screwed one up) and some scrap's I had, then 1/4 inch maple like a venner for the back board I think it was 4 sheets of that and lots of cutting and I used my Krieg pocket jig like a mo fo on that thing and 3" wood screws its pretty stout. I put yankee braces behind all long runs of shelves so they wont sag

Another thing is since I used maple ply I used this maple edging banding stuff you iron on trim it with a utlity knife sand stain etc it works great

its groovy

Love the roadster! I think they are one of the best looking roadsters from the era, but I am biased as I'm a huge datsun fan, just bought a 510 this weekend, I have been wanting one for 10 years, next is a roadster, they are getting rare. Check out this roadster site.
