I may have a chance to pick up a 1930s CM 6" Jointer like this example here. I believe the angle plate and pointer on the right of the machine is missing. How impossible will it be to locate one ?
Could another model/vintage be substituted, or one made like a reproduction badge is made ?
Thanks for any input,

Shawn

I set up my Delta jointer over ten years ago and have not adjusted it since. I do not think guides or markers help much. You have to set the cutterhead to proper depth of cut relative to the top table. Then you have to set the lower table parallel and lower. I like shallow, like 1/32. Who needs needles and gauges? Not us, we don't need no stinkin' needles.

I haven't changed mine either since I set it up. However, it is nice. I'm trying to think about this. I need to take a look at how mine is mounted when I get home.

ALLFAST, if you're close by you could come over and could compare a delta to a craftsman.
