I just got back from Sears and thought I would share what appears to be one heck of a deal - at my local store anyway.
They have five plain brown boxes marked with P/N 15383, which is their 95 piece easy-to-read 6 point impact socket set. The boxes are marked as discontinued and damaged. The sales clerk said that they had some boxes open up on the truck and they were able to make up a few sets with the pieces that they were able to find. Whatever. He said that most boxes were only short a socket or two, but that you take a chance when you buy one of the boxes.
Even if the set was missing a few sockets, man, what a cheap way to build up a very nice set of impact sockets. I already own a 12 piece deep set that I bought for half price at one of the Craftsman Clubs deals, so since it is included in the 95 piece set, maybe I could sell it & recoup some of my $130 outlay.
Dang, I hate going into Sears. Spent most of today's overtime when I bought another Professional Wall Cabinet for $100. That is about as cheap as I have seen them - Craftsman Club or not. So I am heading back to pickup the cabinet with my truck. Think I'll see if I can get some semi-clueless Saturday night sales clerk to open one of those damaged socket sets for me. Might be spending tomorrow's O/T also.
