Recently got an old (relatively old) dp off cl, and need to remove the front pulley to access the top compartment. The nut is reverse threaded and comes off easily. Then what? Is the pulley threaded onto its shaft, or does it lift out on the shaft? I tried both of these, using gently force, but figured I'd check before I break something! It works great- I just wanted to repair the light socket. Thanks.

Judging from the parts picture, it's on a tapered shaft. Even if not, the keyway says its not threaded. Might need a gear puller.......

Someone with same machine might check in if they have the model:

Yep that front pulley is on tapered and keyed. you can see it in the drawing.

Get a gear puller on it get a bit of pressure on it and give the center puller bolt a smart rap, and it should pop off.

Many times when removing a light metal part from a shaft (especially a tapered shaft) it helps to use some heat. Not a welding torch, but careful use of a small propane (Benz-o-Matic) torch to heat the pulley to about 300 degrees F. expands the bore enough to loosen the grip on the shaft.

Try the puller first, but don't apply enough force to bend anything!
