These were not advertised. I just returned from Sears where I found them for $30. 50% off a 10pc. Pro screwdriver set is a great deal IMO. They rarely put their pro stuff 50% off.

I was going to skip it since I just bought small Wiha set, but its mostly phillips and this is mostly slotted, so might make a good combined set. Plus I think I can't resist buying that swivel tip screwdriver much longer.

Are these noticably better than the std cman screwdriver sets? I have one of those 18 piece sets I got for $20 and wonder if they're worth replacing now that these are on sale? No complaints other than I've chipped/bent a few of the std ones using them as chisels, etc.

I haven't used them yet but I am going to say that they are. I currently have the same SC's as you. The tips on the pros are blasted so they don't slip on the fastener. I believe they are also hardened. The grips are ergonomic and feel great. They are similar to tooltruck screwdrivers but are 1/4 the cost.

It's more than 50% off (50.008% off), but I got the 10% discount, $53.98 plus $2.70 tax for two sets.

Ordered them -- $28 for pickup, not a bad deal. I do like how the non-pro screwdrives are extremely easy to distinguish between phillips/slotted, but hopefully these work better...

Yea, the cheapies are easily identified betwee phillips and slotted. Maybe just organize these in a drawer, one side slotted, one side phillips. I will still be using my standard drivers. They will just get more abused than the pro's.

Just got them. Love them. Size/type printed on the **** end. Used it for a minute and good contact and adhesion. Got snapons coming, will be interesting to compare.

I looked them over, handled a few of the loose ones, and bottom line too good of a deal even if three of them are the same 1/4" tip with different lengths. The pry bar set was very tempting going out the door, but for my use I think the $8 HF set will do.

BTW I don't think the tips are hardened, not with chrome that close on the shafts.

Yea, I wasn't sure on that when I said it. As you said though, too good of a deal to pass up. These will be my first decent set of screwdrivers.

Yep they are on sale for 30 tomorrow. My 4 month old son is buying me those and the craftsman pro screwdrivers for christmas. He must love me.

You really should reconsider. I have all three sets: HF, Craftsman Std & Pro. The HF models look similar in design, but when you compare them side by side, they are quite a bit thinner, and as a result, they flex much, much more.

The difference between the two Craftsman models are the handles.

I've lurked for a while now, finally have something to contribute; I bought a 30pc set of Facom screwdrivers on eBay for ~$80 (search and you should find them) The seller seems to have many similar lots and when one sells he lists the next.

The screwdrivers themselves are very nice, well shaped with bright handles, hex bolsters on many and, I don't know why this is particular to the slotted, but some are forged which I can't imagine is too common.

Fair warning, I haven't had them long so I can't comment on durability but they look and feel well made.

Nice catch on the Facoms. I followed that guy's auctions for a couple weeks and those sets were going for $140. I desperately wanted to get a set for $80. You are very lucky. I hope you enjoy them, they look very nice. I have Facom body tools and they are very high quality.

I bought the Craftsman pro screwdrivers online yesterday also, for in-store pickup. Got them and when I got home I noticed there was a sticker on them that said "clearance" with the box "used" checked off. I took them out of the package and inspected them and they don't look used. Just thought it was kind of weird.

I have the Facom, the Craftsman Pros and the Snap On. All of them work well.... but I always reach for the Snap On first. Not because it's better, but because it cost me enough that I am going to throw **** at it every chance I get!


BTW: the Facoms are REAL nice!!!!! Like Cman Pro up a few notches....

The one thing that the Snap Ons have over the Facoms is that teh Snap on phillips ends are the ACR design. Other than that, give me either the Snap On or the Facom and I'd be happy.
