Another Facom, 14x250mm forged slotted. That's a quarter for scale.

You can, just go pick em out from the open stock rack. Obviously they would be more pricey that way.

Wait for one of those "open stock" sales. Or maybe another $10 off each item screwups. :headscrat

Guy at the swapmeet bought the set on sale, took out the ones he wanted and sold the rest for more than he paid.

Hey Eschoendorff, thanks for the pics of the 3 diff screwdrivers!

What's your review/comparison of the 3?

I got the cman pro this last weekend, think they're great, and just got some SO off ebay today. Can't wait to give them a shot.

My oldschool cman cheapies just reached junk drawer status. Still, can't ever have too many screwdrivers.

I just can't grip the Facom style handle. The Snap-On handle is the best for me as I've got big hands.

A buddy at work got a set of the new style "instinct" Snap On's, which resemble the Craftsman Pro's handle shape.

The handles were really well made and smooth compared to the Craftsman's, however I was really surprised at how rough and poor the phillips tips looked. The ACR ridges were uneven and rough, and the tip as a whole looked like a poor casting, not a precision forged piece.

I was really underwhelmed given all the praise Snap On screwdrivers get.

Yea, even the old Soft Grip Snap-on's don't have perfect ACR tips. But they still work though.

Hey, so if my ACR tips wears out, I can theoretically get another one from Snap-on?

I bought a 10 piece set recently of the Craftsman Pro screwdrivers for work and I love them. About the most expensive screwdrivers that I can afford on my budget. After Christmas I plan to buy a larger set for my box at home :)

My review of the three screwdrivers pictured is: take your pic, they all work well. But I reach for that Snap On and put it through hell as often as I can. Plus, I really dig the ACR tip.

They are on sale again today in the flier that came with my daily paper. Same price. I would imagine its a nation wide sale, although I just checked the website and they aren't on sale there.

Maybe I should make a picture of that. But today I was taking apart stereo amplifier with P2 screwdriver from that set and one screw slipped and I noticed it ate piece of screwdriver tip. Not tip itself, but rounded fins. I would think that Craftsman PRO screwdriver tip shouldn't be soft like that. Especially tha screw look like it is brass or copper.

Is that normal? Anyway, I used other one and noticed that this covering got taken off after one night of use.

Seems to me sometimes the Craftsman screwdrivers are not the exact P1, P2, etc. They just don't seem to fit as nicely as other screwdrivers (namely Snap-on). Could be psychological, I guess.

I'll check out the store tomorrow. Got a $5 coupon in the mail from the craftsman club. I was thinking a tool bucket organizer but I'd much rather get the screwdrivers on a good sale.

There is a $5 off $25 coupon in their flyers by the door or at the registers. I bought one of their neon clocks today on sale for $19 and a few other things to bring my total up enough to use the coupon.

I am hoping for some gift cards for Christmas so I can get some more STUFF!

Note: I rarely ever buy new since I am a full-time auctioneer, but some times I just can't resist (especially when I get a gift card).

They seem to be pretty good fit to me, but I didn't have anything better yet, so it might be psychological. What ticked me off that screwdriver got damaged from brass screw. I would expect screwdriver to be somewhat hard.

Lifetime warranty, I would take it back a damaged tip is worthless if not dangerous to use.

Well. It's on very tip, I'm not even sure they will consider it a damage. Same thing with this anti-slip covering that got scratched to metal after minor use. It's not guaranteed.

Where is the $5 off $25 coupon? I got these for my dad at $40, thinking I should probably exchange if I can get it down to $25.

One store that I went to had no coupons. The next store that I went to had about 400 flyers near the register that had the coupon on it. The flyer is a single paged 8.5" X 11" sheet. Good luck.

Also,
There was a $5 off of $25 coupon in the 15? page Sears add that came in my newspaper last Sunday. I hope that info helps.

I believe the Craftsman Pro screwdrivers are made by Western Forge in Colorado Springs. At least that's what I think that little WF means on the side of the handle stands for.

I'll be opening mine up tomorrow. I found a large P4 at my favorite local tool store by chance the other day. Some dumb*** traded it in on a cheaper screwdriver. $13 screwdriver for $5, no tax, I'll take it. The set lacked some of the larger drivers and I needed this one to break the latch strikers free on our Mustangs. The grip felt very nice and I already used the 1/2" drive near the handle. Threw a Gearwrench on there and now I have a ratcheting screwdriver with some serious torque. I could have used a striker cap on the end like the Pro pry bars have though. Tap on it to help break the fastener loose.

Christmas is getting close and I hope they put these back to 50% off before then.

yeah me too.....my mother asked what to get for me this year so I sent my her the link for these when they were $29.99. So she printed it out and went down to the store and they told her that was for a online purchase only and proceeded to sell them to her for $59.99. She didn't know what to think so she just bought them at the $60 price.

If I lived closer, I would go and given the store manager my .02, but she is in CT and I'm in VA. So she included the receipt in the box, so I'm sure going to wait for them to come on sale again....

The really bad part is that I bought 2 sets at that price for 'other' presents I had to give....there is no way in hell I'm going to let them get away with that. especially taking a old woman for a ride....

Sometimes I hate Sears....

on another note...my wife bought me a mechanics hammer, you know the one with the rubber on one side, and a piece of delrin/plastic on the other...so she went in when they were on sale, none in stock, so she got a rain check. Waiting 3 weeks for them to come in stock, and the old guy (the same one who wouldn't take the $5 off coupon she says) told her it wasn't good at that price. She asked for the manager and he gave it to her at the sale price on the rain check no questions asked....what a joke.

If you have the printout from when they were on sale (with the date on it) and the reciept showing the date of purchase as the same day you should be able to take the screwdrivers to the store and raise hell until you get your $30 back.

SEARS is SEARS does not matter where she got them and where you are, its all one big happy incompetent store. Might take some talking to with the manager but hold your ground and you will get your $30 back (now be nice and give the $30 back to your Mom)
