cman pry bar set?

im in the market for some pry bars with screwdriver hard handles and a warentee. is the craftsman set any good? its like 35$ at sears for 3 of them in a tray. i did a serch but found nothing. thanks

Just got the 5 piece set a couple of days ago, have not used them yet. They seem to be pretty nice though.
I read a comment a couple of weeks ago where someone said they were a good value for the weekend mechanic, that is why I got them.
Paid 43 dollars for the 5 piece set online.

If you're talking about the red hard-handled set, I've got some of them and they've worked fine. I haven't tested them to failure, but they've been well worth the money. They're made by Wilde Tool, a US manufacturer who OEM-brands tools for many suppliers. Keep your eye open, they go on sale at Sears for 50% off pretty frequently.

I also bought the red handled set for $20 on sale. I'm just a weekend warrior, but they havent bent or broken yet. Although they do flex a little sometimes. All in all, thumbs up!

i saw them and thought they looked pretty good. i have a bunch of cheap ones that werent so good. then i saw my dads snap on set and wanted some of those, he picked me up a set from pep boys or something PT tools? that are real thick like the snap ons and are real nice. now i have those, the cheapies and the snap on, out of all, i fousn the cheap ones liek to bend if you really lay on them. the snap ons i broke one and i dont work in a shop so i had a hard time getting a new on. the pt, never an issue. my brother wound up returning the broken snap on. id buy those cman if i needed a set.

The Craftsman are the best bang for the buck. They have a striker cap on the end so you can use a hammer.

If you don't need the striker cap on them ( I know I am going to hear about this) go to HF and spend 10 bucks on their pry bar set, but I would go for the craftsman.

Hmnn. I like the Craftsman with the striking feature. I notice the that my single red handle craftsman pry bar is looking pretty beat up. I was going to order a set of the blue OTC pry bars but these seem like a better deal.

Does anyone know of an app that tracts the price of items on sears or other web sites? I am familiar with the amazon tracking apps and have had good luck with them.

If you don't need the striker cap on them ( I know I am going to hear about this) go to HF and spend 10 bucks on their pry bar set, but I would go for the craftsman.

If you beat on the HF ones enough you'll wear the handle down far enough to the shank and it makes it's own striking cap . I have a set of HF ones and for the price I have been extremely happy with them.

They put that set on sale for $20 every so often.

The 5 pc pro set on sale for $35 looks like an excellent deal too. With coupons right now you could buy it for $45 if it were in stock. I have the $20 set and they are good.

I am an apprentice who just bought the 3 piece Craftsman Professional set for $45. You could get the 3 piece regular Craftsman set for $35 right now but $10 gets u the Pro ones....used em frequenty since I bought them, they are nice.

Same here. Only complaint is no strike caps. I've cracked a few of the handles on the larger ones. Warrantied w/o a problem. It would make more sense for them to add the caps

I got the 3 piece set back in November, during Sears Black Friday sale. No problems at all, minus the strike cap. Although, they did build up some surface rust on them a few days after I took them out of the package. But since it was Black Friday, I picked them up for $10....

If you really use prybars, these Crafty Professional bars are the real deal... made in USA by Mahew. Spend a few more bucks and get these premium prybars. They'll last you a lifetime and feature metal striker caps on the handles. Mine have held up well and are "tuff as nails".

They are also available in most Sears stores, right next to the regular crafty bars.

I agree, the red handles are a good value on sale. The Pro`s are a great deal on sale. In store you will see the 3 pc set. Reg price around $50. I got the Pro`s on sale for $25 with another 10% off tools a couple years ago.

Yes, It's a hassle though if you have to keep returning them. They'd make more money if they added a strike cap to cut down on warranty returns.

One of the tech's where I work uses the red handled Craftsman's and they work fine. He has only been using them for a year though.

I have purchased the three piece set for $19 about 8 years ago.

They are very good and worth every penny. Never had one fail, the larger 30 inch version does flex when it is stressed, but never broke.

Also never had a need to strike the red handles with hammer.

I've had mine since summer, and I'm not impressed.
The tips are chipped to hell, and whatever you do, DO NOT attempt to "tap" the ends...your pry bar will shrink.
That said, they are probably the best bang for buck.
Is there a Professional CMan pry bar set available?
