Cman's Usa extention differences ???

I have several Craftsman USA extensions. I just noticed that some have a hole for the ratchet retention ball and some do not. The two in the picture are both 44264 with a H code stamped on them. Any information would be appreciated, different manufacture Etc. Thanks !!!!

There is a long thread in here somewhere about the Craftsman date code markings manufacturers and production years

its called "Craftsman Hand Tool Manufacturers & Date Ranges"

there's also a Web page called something like "Alloy Artifacts" about historical tool companies.
