Holy ****. :wtf:

The bigger question is, if you return it, are the others the same or did you get a lone fluke? Hopefully that's a one off, but given the source, I wouldn't be too sure. :lol_hitti

That would be an awesome example for me to use when I talk about quality control in my manufacturing courses. Willing to let me buy you a new one instead of returning it?

I'll bet that design was approved for production by someone with a lot of "Participation Awards".

Something is not right here... me thinks some photoshop work has been done.

Why are the 'wrong' black line markings overlapping into the machined area whereas the correct markings curiously do not cross in to the machined area?

You can buy a central tools digital caliper from the Snapon truck or website for the same price as that hf. Well, its the storm brand, centrals budget calipers. Carbon fiber digital caliper for 15 bucks. On Snapon website search part number cnt3c351 $14.95

Only a fool would buy a percision tool at HF It is all pure ****! In my former life I was a tool and die maker, Inspector for the US Navy and I have worked for Boeing Aircraft.
Forget the fact that I am a general contractor and Architect. HF tools are good for the boat because if you drop one over it is woth nothing. If you brough one of thier calipers or micrometers into my my machine shop you would get fired on the spot. Tiwan tools are a little better. Some are getting good but not one thing HF makes in that line is worth the powder to blow it to hell. Shame on you for evening considering it. What do you expect. have you ever tried to read any instructions. They don't know what the tool is for.

i wouldnt really call calipers a precision tool. i do have a nice caliper and the hf calipers are for the dirty work in the garage were i dont care if they get beat up im not doing precision machine work with them. and for the photo chop comment i dont even know how to photo shop. ill be trading them to rslaback.

Interesting post. Has your cliff notes version of your resume, work credentials, hiring requirements, tool review and some shame thrown in at the end.

Negative.

Edit: I use the HF IR Temp on the boat.

"HF tools are good for the boat."

Questionable.
