Hello. I have a very old Coats 4040 tire changer. The threaded center post has seen better days.
Action, It is wore out to the point it's easier to change a tire on the floor with tire irons.
My Google Fu is apparently weak. I'm not finding information on if this center post is replaceable, Or the process if it is.
Someone here have experience with replacing the center post on a Coates 4040?

As I remember the center post is part of the welded frame assembly. Not replaceable. You might be able to weld and rebuild the threads on it with careful welding and grinding. Also the cone is probably worn out threads also and it should be replaceable.
