I am looking to finally make my garage a more functional space. The space has a concrete floor which is made up of several poured segments and which is generally pitched toward the garage doors.
The concrete definitely has some moisture issues where water can up between the seams and sometimes the concrete itself seems moist. There are some cracks here and there as well as some general staining from rust and oil. There is very minimal spalling and pitting that I remember.
I am in a snowy area so the floor is often subject to water and deicing materials.
Things I am looking for:
1) not slippery
2) easy to keep clean (i.e. hose/sweep clean)
3) minimize moisture in garage
4) durable while working on floor, (i.e. floor jack, dropped tools, dragged cast iron parts, resistant to welding/grinding)
5) something that needs minimal maintenance and repair
6) easy to install
7) resistant to damage from tractor with lawnmower/snowblower lower blade
8) brighten the space
I've been reading a lot of different threads here on and off for a few years and am just not sure what the best course of action would be. I am planning to do this job myself. I do not have any desire to grind the floor surface for epoxy, but am not opposed to other surface preparation methods.
Any help and advice is appreciated. Thank you in advance.
