My parents' house is 90 years old. There is a covered porch on the front that has a concrete floor. I don't think it is as old as the house, but it is still quite old. The concrete floor is about 20" above ground level. As best I can tell, it is not suspended off the ground but either fully concrete or sitting on a solid base underneath the concrete. There is one crack from the front to the back. It's only about 8'x20'
Previously, someone has painted this porch floor. Previously, someone has also glued down outdoor carpet. The carpet is up but the glue and paint remain for now.
My mother wants an epoxy or epoxy-like coating on the concrete. I figured I'd do this job for her. Being such a smallish area, I figured I could grind the concrete with my 7/9" angle grinder and a diamond disc and do the corners with a 4" angle grinder. What's the best coating to put on this porch floor? I hear polyurea might be better than epoxy? For the singular crack, do I just open it up a bit with a grinder and fill in with concrete repair before coating the floor?
