Looking for feedback on the use of a 100% Polyurea coating with a Polyurea basecoat and chip, and topcoat for a 500 sq ft covered outdoor patio. I’m getting a quote from DaVinci Coatings tomorrow. They use only Penntek Industrial Coatings and offer a lifetime warranty. Local reviews look very good, but I thought I’d ask the experts here.

My patio is similar to the pic below. Thanks.

following as I am about 8 hours NE of you. Previous owner used some crappy epoxy in the garage and on the patio. Flaking off damn good, will be taking the pressure washer to it all then want to do a high quality coating that’s a lot more durable.

I'll let you know how it turns out. I just met with the contractor and was very impressed with the quality of their work. I'll be doing a 500 sq. ft. back patio and another 100 sq. ft. front porch area. About 50 different flake designs to choose from, or you can do a custom mix. It worked out to right around $6/sq. ft. installed, including running the coating up the vertical edges of the wall to the stucco weep screed.

If our weather holds out, the job will be done the last week in March.

Anyway.. it is a good application.
Only as good as the business that backs it. Around here it's $25 to change business names.

My decks are done in HD-6600. Which has worked really well, but needs to be re-coated every 3 years or so. Less expensive than epoxy or polyurea. But it's clear over stained concrete, so doesn't have that flake look.

Polyurea is great. I love it. I've done more than 4 floors with it including the interior of my home.

Well we had the patio and front porch coated on Monday. I’m extremely happy with the quality of the work and the results. Job was finished in one long day, and they did a very thorough diamond grinding of all areas.

Lifetime warranties...

Anyway.. it is a good application. My only ask would be for a flexible base coat. This is the achilles heel of anything outside. Slabs move when temps change. Good luck.
This is very important.

OP has already gotten his done, but for others that may read this later, keep in mind that the product also has to have enough build to take advantage of flexible properties. Polyurea basecoat is applied at 4-5 mils typically...half of which is going to soak into the concrete. There is almost no build at all on the floor, so the high flexibility numbers they quote don't really mean anything. A true flexible system needs to have sufficient thickness to actually flex.

If you want an exterior coating, Legacy is the place.

Exterior coatings are much higher risk. You need a coating that will withstand the elements and moisture intrusion or it will fail.
