Coating inside of new compressor tank?

I will soon be installing my old compressor hardware on a new (20 gallon) horizontal tank. I was thinking it might be worth coating the inside with something to prevent rusting. Assuming I can get the inside clean by sloshing around some lacquer thinner and then maybe some nails and evapo-rust to get the surface roughed up a bit, what product might be best for this purpose? I was thinking maybe POR-15...

People use lengths of chain and phosphoric acid then coat gas tanks with Kreem. You’ll see it on YouTube I bet. I’d question if it would be worth it though
Mines 23 and fine. You might be best off putting on one of those HF auto drains and be happy with that. Mine works like a charm and was under $10. I’d be careful with POR I e used it on lots of things and it’s not the end all be all your think. Besides , when it does come off iris in big chunks. Not really what you’d want plugging things up down the road . Just my .02$

Yea unless I could be certain of adhesion, the POR may be asking for trouble. Maybe I'll just use rustoleum and get one of those auto-drains. My old tank took 30 years to get a rust through pin hole and that was draining it very infrequently.
