Coating recommendation?

Finally getting ready to move on getting my shop built, and I'm looking for suggestions for a floor coating. I'm building a 30' x 40' metal building with a concrete slab which will be used for a variety of purposes, but mostly woodworking (though there will be some machine work as well as automotive work in there as well).

I don't expect the color will affect the recommendations, but I'm looking at a beige/tan floor. Cost is always a factor, but perhaps not the biggest at this time. What would y'all suggest for a coating material given this application? And any idea if I can expect some Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals?

I'd been thinking more of a coating ("paint") than a stain, and hearing that the modern coatings were pretty durable in this regard. Is that not the case?

Hi,
Our two most popular options with hundreds of GJ members using each of them over the years is our SPGX polyurea/polyaspartic one part coating and the thicker 3 layer 100% solides epoxy system www.armorcladepoxy.com. SPGX is about half the price of epoxy system. Both of these are coatings.

If you need more info, please email us directly for faster service, thank you.

Thanks for the suggestions. How would you compare the two? The difference in price is obvious, and the SPGX being a single-component coating is attractive. What other differences would you point out?

I'll be wanting to add color chips/flecks and an anti-skid additive--would that affect the recommendation?

If you want a fleck type floor the epoxy system being much thicker is better. The SPGX is great for clear or solid colors on standard good condition floors.

My brother has installed an epoxy floor coating recently. It is a thick coating which also gives a good look to the room.
