I'm currently building a new house and my garage floor slab was just poured. I am planning on coating the slab in the spring. I hadn't even thought about it ahead of time, but the flatwork guys used a 2% calcium chloride admixture because of cool temperatures.
I had originally planned on acid staining with a clear epoxy topcoat, but am now reading that the calcium chloride can make acid stain look splotchy. Would a water based stain also look splotchy? Should I just give up on the idea of a stain and go with a solid color epoxy or polyurea coating?
