So I’ve owned this coats for several years, only using it sporadically. Anyway, it’s always been reliable. Last week I went to use it, and pushed the balance bottom as always. However, instead of spinning then stopping like it normally does, the motor engages, spins to normal balance speed, then instead of disengaging and stopping, it disengaged, re-engaged and spun the tire super fast. I hit the power button, as it sounded like it was going to come apart.
I took the top off of it(unplugged) and noticed one of the contractors(of what I assume is a forward/reverse contactor) was stuck and coil wouldn’t depress if I try to manually depress it. So I unwired the contactor assembly, and took it apart. One of the coils was completely melted and the, what I assume is a lockout mechanism in the middle of the two coils, one of the little arms was really hard to move. So I got a new 24v 60hz ac coil, other tested good, and a new lockout mechanism. Put it back together and it did the same thing. Although both coils will now manually depress. It has been converted to 240, but has worked for years. Ideas?
