New to the forum, thanks for adding me.

Wishing to hear from any and all knowledgeable persons, with information on the topic. I've recently bought an oldie, and it seems to be solidly in working condition. Going through it now, replacing some air lines and fittings, to insure I'm getting the proper p.s.i. to the point of use.
Difficult to find a lot of good information on the machine. Having contacted Coats two times, and receiving zero responses, I thought I'd seek out some good guys or gals on here.
My present project is to drain the oil from the cylinder, which I have done. Here is the issue...
I can find nowhere, a capacity of the special hydraulic oil to refill it with. (other than 1" from the top) Found, have been three options of brands of the oil. Of course, I can't find it anywhere but Ebay, and only found one brand there.
What have you got to share? I would appreciate your help on this one.
Thanks.

I just use regular hydraulic oil in my antique 10-10. I don't remember for sure but it doesn't seem like it held that much.

I've been told to only use the Shell listed, or one of these found on the cross reference table I found.
Shell tellus 21 hydraulic oil
Empac 4061
Mobil velocite 10 spindle oil.

Thanks for your input. Looking forward to hearing from others, too.

Help! I just got a 2020 n I don't know where to start to get it working. I put air to it n I get air if I hit the pedal on the left but it doesn't do anything when I step on the right pedal. Where do I start? I don't know anything about this machine except that its heavy. I also contacted the company but I'm gonna guess that I wasted my time but it seems like I found the right place to get some help. Thanks in advance

Sounds to me like your right pedal is not engaging the air pressure valve, or the valve is froze up.
I have been working on mine, and have it torn down, replaced some air hoses, changed the oil in the reservoir, and lubes up some moving parts.

Did you find the problem with the right pedal? I possibly discovered the issue. When I went to put mine all back together, it did exactly what you described. I took the two bolts out of the right foot pedal, and held it out a bit, as I tightened the bolts. It works well, now.

Those are a solid, well built machine, but 50 years old at least. Great for steel wheels with center hole. Made for wheels 13-16 inch. Used one of those back in the early 70's, they were replaced by the 40-40A that had the air assisting seating beads. Should be handy around a farm, but modern non steel wheels on most cars are going to be a problem. A lot wheels the center hole is not big enough for that column and you would scratch them like crazy or bust the rim if the top or bottom bead breaker missed the tire and hit them wrong. Lots of luck.

You need these booties to protect aluminum and painted rims .
For aluminum rims there should be a shim (1/4”?) for the lower bead breaker? Maybe only the 1010 had that ? There was a plate wth long reach fingers that was available for mags too to hold the wheel down by the bolt holes instead of the Center hole .
For steel rims have at her but honestly the egging around and the bending and breaking of mags , there’s a reason these are cheap ,

Just today, changed five tires on my 1 ton Chevy service truck. The old tire machine performed quite well, and the beadblaster function gave the bead seating a boost. Glad to have it in my shop, and ready to use on tires and wheels on many of my pieces of equipment.

wondering if the cyl. is low or out of oil would make my turning shaft / breaker bar spin out of control? Thanks

There’s a vent fitting on top of the cylinder, and if it low on fluid the bar will spin out of control . The fluid acts like a dampener.
