Hello, longtime lurker, but just joined again since I couldn't remember my username. I have been wrenching a long time, but not near as long as many of you. This is my first tire changer, and I don't want to just throw money at it, and it look like it can be expensive to fully refurbish. I have not found a ton of info on this model online.
I recently scored a really good deal on a Coats 7050ax. I knew the strongarm was broken when I bought it ($$$), which was a big part of why it was so cheap. The table and bead breaker worked when I tested at pickup, but there was obviously an internal air leak, which I have located, its dumping out a brass filter looking thing on the center pedal, which seems to be associated with the bead breaker.
The bead breaker worked, though slowly, when I got it home to test on a real tire.
The table doesn't have the nuts to spin with the duckbill in the tire. I think it may be the air leak, as the unit shows about 50psi on the top gauge.
Will the leak (that doesn't seem horrible at the valve be enough to not allow the table to spin?
