I picked up a used Coats RC-20A last year from a widow for good money, the only downside was after I got it home I found that the rotary coupler was ******* air (cracked plastic fitting). I have a new one on order but I was hoping to get it out while I'm waiting.

I have the air cylinder and turntable off, leaving me with the spider legs that feel like they're pressed in. I've already been whacking it with a mallet with no success.

Gear puller? Lube?

Changed a RC on one a couple years ago, was fairly intuitive once I got into it, but can't remember the details.

Well after soaking in penetration oil for 36 hours, the spider legs pulled right off. Somebody previous to me has packed the splines with a lot of grease making it easy to remove. The coupler came off once I put it in the vise and gave a good tug. Now I'm just waiting on UPS to get me the new coupler today.
