I want to change the run for my coax coming into my house. Currently, the coax runs up an expansion joint in my driveway, then looped up next to my garage door and run around the corner to a box mounted on the exterior side of my garage.
I want to route the coax into the garage and distribute it from there, opposed to the current external cable runs on the outside of my house, especially since i really only need 1 run to my cable modem in a room adjacent to the garage in the center of the house.
It looks like i have a few options for getting the cable into the garage, but i would like to do it in a way that hides the cable as much as possible and keeps it safe from getting damaged or clipped.
In the side view image, there is a red line where i think i can drill from the inside of the garage to the exterior through the garage door side trim, on a slant downwards as the hole exits near the driveway. a cable sleeve and caulk going into this hole should be sufficient, but is it an appropriate way to run the cable? This way will be the least visible, but my next option might be the more appropriate way to do this.
The last image shows a conduit 90 bend to a conduit outlet body that can be mounted similar to how i have it shown in the image. this image shows a red circle that will be the approximate placing of the through hole should i go that route instead of the conduit.
after the cable is run through the wall, i will be covering up the cable in the driveway expansion joint with an appropriate cement/caulk filler.
I will have easy access on the garage interior to the house grounding rod to tie in at the coax splitter i am relocating into the garage.
any thoughts/suggestions are much appreciated.
