Do i need this ES if i already have the old Cobra?
This seems like a need nose plier +water pump plier function?

Does the old Cobra do everything you need it to do? If yes, then no.

Have you ever thought: ”Man, some slimmer jaws on this Cobra would be nice right now!” Or did you only stop short of taking a flap or grinding disc to your existing Cobra’s jaws to get those damn jaws thinner/slimmer? If yes, then yes.

For me it’s one of those tools that is - short of actually needing it - nice to have. I will only pick one up if I a) need it, or b) it comes heavily discounted as promotional offer/ some supplier’s re-brand.

Sometimes with new innovations, I'll run into some scenario in the following few months where I realise that tool would have been useful. I'm yet to do that with the Cobra ES, but that's just me.

I think the most compelling feature is the ability to have wide parallel jaws for grabbing something end-on, with a good amount of contact to grip it. Like some sensor body or pin that you need to pull out.
