Cochran Speednut Wrench

Nope, didn't misspell it. I would like to share this with you tool hounds. This site has opened an interest in tools in me.
I acquired this 25ish years ago, and it has hung on the the wall pegboard since.
On 'a' side, on the 'jaw' is Pat'd MAY 2, 1916. The handle states PAT. MAY 2 1916
MADE IN CHICAGO,IL, USA.
On side 'b', on the jaw and on the handle - COCHRAN SPEEDNUT WRENCH
Wiki'ed the firm, nothing.
The jaw swivels, opening from 1/2 to 1 5/16. jaws are riveted to handle and opens smoothly, on an eccentric. Overall length is 8 7/8.

That's a pretty neat wrench. If it were mine, I'd definately use it.

Those gimmicky wrenches were quite common during the beginning of the previous century. All sorts of ideas were tried and you could fill a toolbox today with the different styles that were available. Some were made to a very high standard of quality and others were sold only to make a profit on the idea with no thought for quality manufacturing.
