Code Compliant to Locate a Light Switch in the Attic?

I plan to put a flood light on the side of the house, up by the peak on the gable end. It is a 1.5 story house, so there is a small attic space that the fixture will be adjacent to. I have Lutron Caseta switches throughout the house. My thought is to install a Lutron Caseta switch on the interior side of the wall, in that attic space, and then pair it to a Pico switch by the back door. I know it will be a PITA to pair the switch if it ever loses connection, but in the 5 years I've used these switches they have been solid.

My question is, does this violate code? Other than a nuisance to access, is there fault in my plan? Routing a cable down to the switch box by the backdoor is a bit of a nightmare, one I would like to avoid.

I had a similar problem. To solve it I walked around the house about a half an hour, thought about it and called my electrician friend to do several tasks including install a switch. We pulled the power off another switch by the front door instead of its dedicated breaker, freeing up that breaker for something else I needed installed, pulled the romex I installed to the light on the gable end down into a newly installed old work box, and put the switch just inside the house to garage door. The gable end light is on a daylight and motion sensor, but sometimes in really windy weather the flag or the trees will cycle the light at night. When that happens I can just turn it off until the weather calms. And with the breaker we freed, we were able to pull a 20 amp circuit for a treadmill. If you take an approach like this, you might find a solution that is equally out of the box. One thing that always concerns me with "electronic" solutions is that they are part of a "system." As soon as the electronic hi-tech system changes, it is very hard to find replacement parts when needed in five years.
