I am finishing up the wiring of some 12 DC power LED soffit lights for the garage. I have a power supply with covered terminals, then landscape 16ga wire going to the small LED lights in the soffit.

Are there any specific codes I should be aware of with the exposed wiring?

My current plan is to just neatly secure the wiring and call it a day......

All of the other AC wiring is in EMT conduit in the garage...

Not sure where to look for the code details for low voltage wiring.....

Blue cord is just a temporary ac extension cord for testing. I will set an outlet in the box to provide power to the power supply.

The black wires for DC power to LED lights will be stapled to framing.

Comments before I finish up....?

Article 725 is where you find info on low voltage circuits in the NEC. The power supply you have is going to be either a Class 2 or Class 3 (look at the label on the power supply to see which one it is). Then follow Article 725 for Class 2 or Class 3 circuits.

Most landscape cable is only for exterior use. The insulation will emit nastier smoke when its on fire. Not that it matters when your whole house is burning. Check the markings on your cable.

You should use wiring compatible with your transformer, CL2 or CL3. NM cable or rated speaker wire comes to mind.
