Re: My 24x24 Garage

I used purple power, muriatic acid, and then used Griots Garage "Non Lift" Epoxy and it covered it right up on my floor.

Maybe use a concrete sander to level off the footing?

I'll have to look into that.

Sorry for the WAY late reply, I honestly haven't done much in my garage in a long time. With me traveling every week I don't get to work on it much, and plus with family storing vehicles at my place and working on them stuff has slowed me.

Updates:

The suburban is finally gone, but has been replaced my my brother's 86 M1009
My mother's 96 corvette is residing in my garage, until my dad can clear space in their garage, (car was recently repainted). So my colorado is back outside now.

The winter before last we had a big wind come through and since my gate didn't have drop rods, or even the holes in the drive way for them. So with the wind that around that year, it destroyed my latches I had (obviously cheap ones) and gate blew open hard and bent the frame, of one of the doors. So I took the gates down and finally decided to put it back together.

I'm actually going to replace one of the rods with a much longer one so I can open the gate from the outside, but for now this will do.

Re: My 24x24 Garage

So I think I'm going to pull the trigger on some flooring. Trying to decide on the design, I'm thinking the solid gray in the center, and trying to decide on the border.

Also note the top is actually 4 rows of black tile not 3, it was due to screen shotting the floor designs.

/\ Its a no lose. The second one would be my preference of the three. Unfortunately those pics don't do the end product justice. You will be blown away.

Think I'm going with 3, since the 1 tile actually looks like 2 rows.

Pic for example

Re: My 24x24 Garage

CodeRed - whats your time frame on ordering?

If you wait a bit longer - I think that RaceDeck will be having a Black Friday sale - not sure if that includes the GarageJournal discount though....

I am going to pull the trigger on the same flooring.

I really don't have an exact time frame. My quote I got is the same as last year, only difference is that shipping is free with the discount.

I'll be sure to ask when Shauna calls me back.

Re: My 24x24 Garage

She said the garage journal discount would cancel out the black friday sale and the garage journal discount is more.

I'm getting 529 Tiles and 16 edge pieces. so its right around $1,600 shipped.

Yea its super hard to visualize but it gives you a sense of the look. One row of red would be sufficient. I assume the entrance would be in line with the red stripes.

Also are you going with graphite or alloy in the center? You said gray so i wasn't sure. I've gone Graphite for my last two RaceDeck purchases in the center and love the look.

Yeah Black, Red, and Graphite.

I decided on the racedeck, just because I would need to do quite a bit of cleanup on my concrete, and if I ever move, I can take it with me :)

Re: My 24x24 Garage

^^^ This - I'm going Black, Blue, and Graphite...

Dubber, that Audi Guy, and Gentle Ben have probably driven RaceDeck sales up in the last few years because of how it turned out!

"That Audi Guy". Sounds like a putz.

I'm back and forth with the idea of replacing my red with blue. Maybe it could be a seasonal thing.

I think you will all find your love affair with your garage will become intense once that RaceDeck goes down. Not only does it look good, it just makes the floor so much cleaner and comfortable. Enjoy!

Re: My 24x24 Garage

LOL - Totally forgot your name was Rick - and that whole Cadillac thing...

My only caution is having the lift up and spilling **** under it. Good thing is that its removable with that paint can opener tool.

Also on the plus side - if I do stain up the floor you will be less likely to see it!

Okay - enough threadjacking - Code Red - on with the show!

Sad thing is I'm on vacation from work this week, but the racedeck probably won't show up till Friday and I have to go back to TX on Sunday for work lol

Really nice looking space, I like the fenced in parking in front of the garage as well.

Username seems familiar from my old J-body.org days as well.

Geeds SS - now thats awesome! Does that have an aftermarket cowl hood on it?

Flooring looks great!

I stopped by the RaceDeck booth at SEMA - and I shouldn't have because I placed my order!

It's a vicious cycle ;-)

Re: My 24x24 Garage

Just scrolled through your thread. I had the same issues with the cement pour. The framing pushed out on the back outside of my pad. About an inch lip. I'm just leaving it. Cant see it unless you go back there. Another similarity.... too much working and not enough building.

Nice blog and the GTO is awesome.
