Ok so as I sit in my cold *** garage all bundled up drinking coffee and waiting for some glue to set (heaters pointed towards the glue)..I thought about what everybody does for coffee brands and coffee makers in their shop/garage.

Mr. Coffee and Folgers original for me nothing crazy

It was Christmas gift for the son-in-law that never got given (got him a gaming console instead). I happen to like espresso, so . . .

I got use to the coffee from a machine from my old work place.
Nothing came close till I found this.....
Walmarts Premium Instant coffee.

Yup, easy pleasy, just boil water....I actually have a hot water dispenser on my coffee machine so ya just can't beat the taste.
That jar makes over 600 ounces of coffee and no waste.

But if I have company over, I grind whole bean 8 oclock coffee.

Keurig and various dark roast k-cups. At the moment I have a selection of Starbucks and Tim Hortons dark roast and another called "Death Wish Coffee". My wife got me those for Christmas along with a mug from the company. Have to say, it's the best cup of coffee I've ever drank. It's got a nice kick to it too!

HOYT....do a search.. I think there may be a recall on the Keurig coffee makers that came out for Christmas this year. I'm not 100% positive, but I think I saw it on the news the other day.

I use insulated commuter cups and take my thermos full when I'm working out there in the mornings. Works well for me. Whatever coffee is cheap and plentiful is what I drink with my hazelnut creamer.

A coffee pot in the garage????? That would take away space used for tools, and it is too dirty out there.

I just walk in the house and get it. Most of the time, I will use my 22 ounce travel mug as it just holds the amount a 4 cup coffee pot holds. The coffee pot is a cheap Mr. Coffee 4 cup that was under $20. The last one had a little LCD (not led, which isn't visible at night) clock and was otherwise the same. It worked great for a number of years until I tried to clean it and the old plastic broke. The new one doesn't have a clock. I wasn't paying more for a clock that I can't see in the dark, as my kitchen area is dark and I liked seeing the time as I headed to the bathroom at night.

The coffee is usually Folgers classic or breakfast, but I got some Emerils BAM morning blend for Christmas. It has more flavor than Folgers but isn't too strong or bitter. Powdered creamer works fine, but sometimes I buy the flavored liquid creamers.

My wife bought me a proper cowboy style enamel pot for christmas complete with the percolator basket inside. I did a test run on top of the wood stove and got it to boil and perk in about 20 minutes but the fire had only just been lit. Its about an 8 cup job and that was full of dead cold water. Then move it off the open ring and maybe on to a trivet to keep it warm.

Any simple maker and not real fond of Maxwellhouse, seems to have a bitter after taste but, have an aux timer on the outlet and the minute its done the burner is off. I buy cups from Sams by 1000 and we zap it in a micro to reheat. Its always fresh when its not sitting on a hot burner.

Zojirushi coffee maker with the thermal carafe, much better than letting it sit on a burner all morning. Brews fast and hot too.

Wife gave me a Kuereg for my birthday. It sits on top of the beer frig. Yesterday morning, I popped a Kcup in from the variety pack that came with it. Said it was English Breakfast Blend. Thought it might be ok, I'll try it... Took a sip and about spit it all over my desk... It was &$@#ing tea...

^Actually laughed out loud. Watch out for anything with a pretty label! I found the little reusable strainer and "real" coffee to be best in the k-machine... But never the same as a brewed cup. We switched back to a simple mr coffee and we stock up on dunkin coffee when it is 4/$20.

Have thought of putting coffee maker in garage, but I really only have water during summer months. Usually carry a 20 oz plastic travel mug to shed. No glass for me. Dark and very strong coffee ALWAYS. Otherwise, I drink water. Leaky

I have a simple Mr. Coffee in the house with an insulated carafe. Use a premium coffee Starbucks or Tulleys whatever is on sale that week. The insulated carafe moves to the shop if needed and the coffee is hot for 6 hours or so. I don't drink a lot of coffee so a pot may last 2 days and the reheated second day is as good as the first days as it has not chance to oxidize during the time it sits.

Cuisinart 12 cup (although I usually only make about 6-8 cups which is really 2-3 mugs).

I buy Meijer brand whole bean coffee, one of the light roast varieties. On sale it is about $6/lbs.

I have an attached garage, so my hardware set-up is in the kitchen. Bunn with an insulated pot, no warming burner.

My choice of software is Sam's Club house brand.

This travel mug keeps it pipping hot for a couple of hours.
"The Autoseal lid automatically seals between sips to help prevent spills.
Double-wall vacuum-insulated stainless steel keeps beverages hot for 4 hours or cold for 12 hours."

People will just never understand why a Bunn is so much better until they own one. :rocker:
