I am a young guy, trying to get some info on cordless tools. I currently own a couple older Milwaukee and Dewalt cordless tools (impact, hammer, and saws) and am ready to buy a new crop of tools. What I am wondering is if anyone has a graph or some numbers as to how many tools Dewalt and Milwaukee carry in their cordless lines? I know Milwaukee probably has more m18 than Dewalt 20v max, but I would love to see some numbers to get an understanding on how both lines are growing. I know both make great tools, i am mostly interested in selection of tools.

Does quantity really matter? As long as they make what you need, do you care otherwise? DeWalt makes a ******** that most would never use unless you're in the concrete trade, same goes for an M18 PEX expander, which you'd never use unless you're a plumber.

Pick what's important to you, research those items, buy accordingly.

Milwaukee has better sawzalls, bandsaws, compact impact wrenches, and circ saws. DeWalt has a miter saw, cordless nailers, drywall guns, that Milwaukee hasn't offered here yet. Drills are about on par with each other as are rotary hammers. Both make below average jigsaws.

Oh I know it doesn't matter too much on how many, but I am just interested in some numbers. There are countless other threads about benefits of different brands, I know cause I have looked. So if anyone has some info we haven't seen I think that is what I made this thread for.

You might just have to compile that information yourself.

Unless you are going to buy a bunch of them right away, then it probably doesn't matter.

All the major brands are competitive - Makita, Dewault, Milwaukee, Bosch - are creating new tools all the time, and in a few years they will come out with a new line that makes the current one obsolete.

Pick the one you like best and go with it. Personally I pick based on battery performance rather than tool performance, because ultimately the batteries are the most expensive part for me.

OP why not give both companies a call and ask them your question I am sure they would put you in touch with their R&D dept. and they could get the information to you. At the same time I am sure they would mail you out a copy of their current catalog that you could look over.
